Therapy

I believe each of us has a protective system that helps us manage our day-to-day lives. But when we hit a bump in the road, those protective systems become overactive and out of balance—they work too hard and we get stuck in a place of worry or despair.  We can feel overwhelmed. We get hurt.

Each of us carries wounded aspects of ourselves from our pasts, parts that hold onto beliefs or emotions that become trapped in time. In therapy, we can heal our wounded parts by releasing them from old stories that are no longer relevant, recognizing instead our resiliency and strength, and opening our hearts to the essential qualities of joy and trust.

Although I have advanced training in two models of therapy (EFT and IFS), I feel each individual, couple and family I work with is unique. I aim to meet you where you are and help you achieve your specific goals for therapy.

Whether individually or in a relationship, I work to help you begin to express your individual needs while understanding the impact you have on those you love. When we can learn to be true to ourselves and present for one another, we can find real closeness in our relationships and harmony in our lives.
